Become a Member!

We depend on the support of our members. Ecology Center memberships are tax-deductible.

Membership benefits include:

Make a Donation

The Ecology Center appreciates donations of any size. Your tax-deductible donations enable us to expand our services. You can make a donation online
by clicking on the Donate Now button. You can make a donation over the phone by calling the Program Director at 510-548-2220 x222. You can make a donation in person at the Ecology Center or the Berkeley Farmers’ Markets, or you can mail a donation to the Ecology Center at 2530 San Pablo Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94702. We will provide you with an acknowledgment letter that you can use for tax deduction purposes.

Many prospective donors turn to GuideStar’s website to research nonprofits and their finances. GuideStar Basic is available at no charge to users.

Donate Stock

The Ecology Center accepts donations of stock. If you would like to donate stock, our Program Director can guide you through the process. Email or contact Amy Kiser at 510-548-2220 x222.

Give a Gift Membership to a Friend!

Do you have someone on your gift list who doesn't want or need any more stuff? A gift membership to the Ecology Center is a great alternative. Gift memberships are available online, through the Ecology Center Store, or by calling us at 510-548-2220 x222. We will provide you with a gift membership certificate to present to the giftee. The giftee will receive all the benefits of an Ecology Center membership and the satisfaction of supporting an organization providing information and direct services to promote sustainable living and a healthy, socially just world.

Give through your Workplace

There are several ways that you can support the Ecology Center through your workplace.

If your company offers employer-matched contributions, give the Ecology Center an individual gift and have your employer match it!
On your annual united Way pledge, write in “Ecology Center.”
Give to Earth Share through your company’s payroll deduction program.

If your employer has a payroll deduction program, you may be able to sign up for Earth Share. Earth Share manages workplace giving programs for a federation of over 80 California environmental organizations, including the Ecology Center. Through Earth Share, you can designate an amount of each paycheck to further the work of the Ecology Center. Or you can elect to support the Ecology Center in a single payroll deduction.

If your employer does not have a payroll deduction program for charitable giving, contact your employer’s HR or giving office and introduce them to Earth Share, the federated workplace giving group to which the Ecology Center belongs.

Include Donations on your Wedding Registry

These days, many couples are rethinking wedding traditions. Some couples ask their friends and family to celebrate their marriage by donating to organizations that reflect the newlyweds’ values or aspirations. The donations are in lieu of or in addition to traditional wedding gifts.

If you’d like to include charitable giving to the Ecology Center on your wedding registry, use Just Give’s Wedding Gift Center. When browsing for charities to include on your wedding registry, choose the Ecology Center in Berkeley.

Sell Your House using Green Planet Real Estate

Green Planet Real Estate specializes in East Bay real estate, and donates 10% of all commissions to environmental or social justice nonprofits. If you are selling a home in Berkeley, Oakland, Albany, Kensington, or El Cerrito, consider using Green Planet Real Estate. Volunteer at the Ecology Center

Volunteering is a great way to contribute to the Ecology Center. Click here to learn about the possible volunteer needs of our many programs.
