Recycling Crew Dispatch Manager

The Ecology Center is seeking a Recycling Crew Dispatch Manager to provide supervision and management of all activities of the organization's recycling dispatch section. The Recycling Dispatch Manager provides direct daily support and supervision to the recycling crew handling daily route assignments, radio dispatch communications, customer service activities including telephone and visitor reception, timekeeping and payroll duties, and related duties.

The Ecology Center is a forty-year-old nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote environmentally and socially responsible practices by providing programs that educate, demonstrate, and provide direct services. The Ecology Center holds the residential recycling contract with the City of Berkeley, owns and operates the three Berkeley Farmers Markets and the Ecology Center Store, in addition to other related programs.

DESCRIPTION:

The Recycling Crew Dispatch Manager performs all duties related to management of the organization's recycling dispatch section under the supervision of the Recycling Director.

TERMS:

Full-time position; hours TBD; occasional weekends and holidays

SALARY:

$36,400 annual salary, plus medical, dental, vacation, sick and holiday pay, 401k plan

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of progressively responsible supervisory/management experience in a recycling, commercial utility or public works setting, or
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible supervisory/management experience in a recycling, commercial utility or public works setting
  • Must be able to converse in Spanish; must be fluent in English, both written and spoken
