Summit logoThe 2008 Berkeley Sustainability Summit and Green Gathering



What:

The Sustainability Summit is an opportunity to learn about the wide variety of exciting sustainability projects going on within our community. The Green Gathering is a chance to celebrate Berkeley's environmental momentum and green leaders. This year, the Ecology Center and the City of Berkeley are merging these events to bring you the best of both!

Format:

4:00 - 6:00: Sustainability Summit
A whirlwind of brief presentations on a wide range of Berkeley sustainability projects, interspersed with networking opportunities.

6:00 - 7:30: Dinner and Mingling.
Tapas by three of Berkeley's best green certified caterers.

7:30 - 8:30: Keynote Speech, followed by Champions of Sustainability Awards Ceremony

Speakers:

Summit Speakers: TBA. Past summits featured local speakers from every sector who addressed a wide variety of topics of urban concern. Guaranteed stimulation.

Emcee: Josh Korbluth, monologist, TV personality, and member of the Berkeley Energy Commission.

Keynote: Judy Wicks, founder of Philadelphia's 25-year-old White Dog Café and co-founder of the nationwide Business Alliance for Local Living Economies (BALLE).
